A small toolbar that lives at the top of every page — so you can translate, look words up, take notes, set a timer, and stay focused without ever switching tabs.
Everything is built into one bar that floats above any page — no extra tabs, no logins, no fuss.
Press SPEAK and say anything out loud. Your words appear as live captions in your teacher's language. Works in 46 languages — English, Japanese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and more.
Set a countdown for your task or start a stopwatch to track yourself. No more watching the clock — the timer sits right in your toolbar and plays a sound when time is up.
Highlight a word on any page to look it up — get a definition, synonyms, or a translation in your language. Save the best ones straight to your notes so you don't forget them.
Jot down vocab, questions, or key ideas without switching tabs. Everything saves automatically as you type — close the toolbar and your notes will still be there next time.
Activate draw mode and sketch, circle, or annotate right on top of any website — diagrams, maps, or any page on screen. Great for figuring things out visually. Press ESC when done.
Highlight text on any page and press READ. Layers reads it back in any language, at whatever speed feels comfortable — slow, normal, or fast. Great for listening while you follow along.

When your teacher shares a room code, your Layers toolbar connects to the class instantly. No accounts, no passwords — just a code.
Ask your teacher for the room code. They'll see it on their Layers teacher app — it's usually shown at the start of class.
Click the Layers icon in your Chrome toolbar, then tap SYNC and type the code your teacher gave you.
Your teacher can now send you links, turn on focus mode, or set a class timer — and it shows up right on your screen.
When Focus Mode is on, off-topic websites are quietly blocked. You can still use all your Layers tools — just not the sites that pull your attention away.
This site is blocked during class.
Your Layers tools still work!
Add Layers to Chrome and it'll be waiting in your toolbar on every page. It's completely free — your teacher doesn't need to set anything up for you to start using it.
